  • Nuclear family is a family where parents live with their children. It is a small family. Children of nuclear family are independent and there is freedom and space experienced by the family members. The disadvantage of living in a nuclear family is financial instability, burden of work and responsibility is not is not shared.
  • Joint family is a family where children live with their parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousin. There is always sharing in the joint family of responsibilities, work, problems, finances etc.. The disadvantages of living in a joint family are social, economical, psychological interdependence of each other. There also may be conflicts in ideology of members of the family.
