                  (Carbon dioxide)  + (Water) ---> (Glucose) + (Oxygen) + (Water)

  • The following events occur during this process of photosynthesis :
    • Absorption of light energy by chlorophyll.
    • Conversion of light energy to chemical energy and splitting of water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen
    • Reduction of carbon dioxide to carbohydrates.
