Young insects undergo stages of development to become adults and the process is known as Metamorphosis. For example, Butterflies go through a complete metamorphosis in which they pass through egg, larva, pupa stages to reach an adult stage. Furthermore, The grasshopper goes only through the nymph stage to reach an adult stage from an egg, hence it is called incomplete metamorphosis.
