How to Prepare for KVPY Physics

How to Prepare for KVPY Physics-  The exam is conducted by the department of science and technology of the government of India on 3rd November 2019. This is one of the most desired scholarship exam in India. The aim is to encourage aspirants to take up research careers in the areas of basic science. As per the KVPY 2019 exam pattern, the exam is divided into 3 streams KVPY SX, KVPY SB & KVPY SA and these each stream is divided into 4 sections: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. In KVPY SA all 4 subjects physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology are compulsory but in  KVPY SB & KVPY SX you can opt for any 3 of the 4 subjects. In this article, we are going to tell you - how to prepare for KVPY Physics.

This exam checks the subject knowledge in-depth and most of the questions are logical and medium level. In 2018 and 2017 most of the questions in physics section were hard. Going through previous year questions will give an idea about the type of questions asked. There will be one or two general questions related to applications of physics in daily life. Below we are going to discuss some tips & tricks on how to prepare KVPY Physics.

  • The important units are - Electrostatics, Ray Optics, Physics and Measurements, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Current and Electricity, Oscillations, Kinematics, Gravitation.
  • If you want to score well in the physics section then you should know the physics requires logical thinking.
  • To solve the physics questions, a thorough understanding of fundamental concepts and the application of mathematics is also necessary.
  • Practice as much as Conceptual questions you can do.
  • Take up problems that relate theoretical physics to daily life.
  • Your analytical skills will be tested in solving this type of conceptual and logical questions.
  • Practice online mock test and previous year question paper.

3. Points to Remember while you are preparing for KVPY Physics

  • The physics section is based on your understanding and analytical ability.
  • The Question in the physics section is based on the fundamentals of physics.
  • Its requires logical thinking
  • Before attempting any question, make sure your concepts are clear.
  • Make a routine in which give 2 hours slot for physics.
  • Give ample time to each problem
  • Be careful about the units are given in the question.
  • Solve problems yourself without looking at the solution.
  • Understand the physical importance of each equation. Each term in formulas should be clear.

4. Know the Best Study Material for KVPY Physics
