1)  I_2+OH^-\rightarrow IO_3^-

2) I_2+12OH^-\rightarrow 2IO_3^-+6H_2O

3) I_2+12OH^-\rightarrow 2IO_3^-+6H_2O+10e^-

Balance the eqns by multiplying the second eqn by 5 and adding we get;

I_2+12OH^-+10e^-+5I_2\rightarrow 10I^-+2IO_3^-+6H_2O+10e^-

3I_2+6OH^-\rightarrow 5I^-+3H_2O+IO_3^-

x=1,y=5,z=3  x+y+z=9
Therefore,option(2) is correct
