As we learnt in

Equilibrium constant in gaseous system -

For equilibrium involving gases, it is usually more convenient to express the equilibrium constant in terms of partial pressure.

- wherein

The ideal gas equation is written as

PV=nRT

                                           CO_{2}_{(g)}+C_{(s)}\leftrightharpoons 2CO_{(g)}

Initial pressure                     0.5 atm         0                  0

Pressure at equilibrium       0.5-x                              2x

Total Pressure =  0.5 - x + 2x = 0.8

x = 0.3

k = \frac{(pco^{2})}{\left ( pco_{2} \right )}

k = \frac{(0.6)^{2}}{0.2}

=1.8 atm

Option 1)

1.8 atm

This is correct.

Option 2)

3 atm

This is incorrect.

Option 3)

0.3 atm

This is incorrect.

Option 4)

0.18 atm

This is incorrect.
