Decreasing functions -

A function y = f(x) is called a decreasing function in an interval  l

if\:for\:\:x_{1}>x_{2}\Rightarrow f(x_{1})<f(x_{2})


or\:\:if\:for\:\:x_{1}<x_{2}\Rightarrow f(x_{1})>f(x_{2})

f(x) is decreasing , so for x_{1}< x_{2}  it is  not possible that f(x_{1})< f(x_{2})
