Communication range -

It is the largest distance between a source and a destination up to which the signal is received with sufficient strength.

 

 During the transmission, the signal strength becomes weak with the propagation of the signal, which is known as attenuation. In addition to attenuation, interference of noise also distort the signal waveform 

To filter out the noise and regenerate the signal as before, repeaters are used in a communication system
