Demodulation -

The process of retrieval of information from the carrier wave at the receiver. Reverse process of modulation.

 Demodulation is reverse process of modulation . Modulation is addition of carrier wave to enable long distance transmission of message signal . Once this modulated wave reaches at receiving end , it is important to filter the carrier wave out for obtaining the message . This process of removable of carrier wave is known as demodulation 

Demodulation takes place at receiver
