The reaction occurs as follows:

                \mathrm{X\: +\: Y\: \rightleftharpoons 2Z}

t = 0            1          1.5        0.5
t = teq      (1-x)    (1.5-x)    (0.5 + 2x)

Given, 0.5 + 2x = 1

Thus, x = 0.25

Now, Keq is given as:

\mathrm{K_{eq}\: =\: \frac{1^{2}}{(1.25)(0.75)}\: =\: \frac{16}{15}}

Hence, x = 16.
