For the following reactions equilibrium constants are given:

S(s)+O_{2}(g)\rightleftharpoons SO_{2}(g); K_{1}=10^{52}

2S(s)+3O_{2}(g)\rightleftharpoons 2SO_{3}(g); K_{2}=10^{129}

The equilibrium constant for the reaction,

2SO_{2}(g)+O_{2}(g)\rightleftharpoons 2SO_{3}(g)

(i)-S(s)+O_{2}(g)\rightleftharpoons SO_{2}(g); K_{1}=10^{52}

(ii)-2S(s)+3O_{2}(g)\rightleftharpoons 2SO_{3}(g); K_{2}=10^{129}

Keq=? for reaction

2SO_{2}(g)+O_{2}(g)\rightleftharpoons 2SO_{3}(g)

se will get this above equalion by

subtracting twice of equation(i) from equation(ii)

i.e ii-2(i)

resultant:-  2SO_{2}(g)+O_{2}(g)\rightleftharpoons 2SO_{3}(g)

\therefore keq = \frac{K_{2}}{(K_{1})^{2}}=\frac{10^{129}}{(10^{52})^{2}}=10^{25} ans
