General Term of an AP is a + (n - 1)d

In this Question,

Given  a_5=-32;a_{18}=85

a+4d=-32\: \: and\: \: a+17d=85

Subtracting equation 1 from equation 2

\\\Rightarrow 13d=85+32=117\\Thus\: \: d= 9
