 Internal energy of \mathrm{n}  moles of an ideal gas at temperature \mathrm{T} is given by:

\quad \mathrm{U}=\frac{\mathrm{f}}{2} \mathrm{nRT}(\mathrm{f}=\text { degrees of freedom) }
\mathrm{U}_{1}=\mathrm{U}_{2}

\mathrm{\therefore \mathrm{f}_{1} \mathrm{n}_{1} \mathrm{~T}_{1}=\mathrm{f}_{2} \mathrm{n}_{2} \mathrm{~T}_{2} }
\mathrm{ \therefore \frac{\mathrm{n}_{1}}{\mathrm{n}_{2}}=\frac{\mathrm{f}_{2} \mathrm{~T}_{2}}{\mathrm{f}_{1} \mathrm{~T}_{1}}=\frac{(3)(2)}{(5)(1)}=\frac{6}{5}}

Here \mathrm{ \mathrm{f}_{2}= \text{degrees of freedom of}\: \mathrm{He}=3 \, and\, \mathrm{f}_{1}=\text{ degrees of freedom of}\: \mathrm{H}_{2}=5}
