Photochemical smog is a mixture of formaldehyde, acrolein, nitric oxide, ozone, and proxy-acyl nitrates (PAN)

Emission of nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons from automobiles exhausts, ozone and solar energy leads to a chain of reactions to produce formaldehyde, aerolein and peroxy-acetyl nitrates (PAN)

The photochemical smog can be controlled by controlling the primary precursors such as \mathrm{NO_2} and hydrocarbons. Usually catalytic converters are used in the automobiles, which prevent the release of nitrogen oxide and hydrocarbons to the atmosphere. Certain plants  e.g., Pinus, Juniparus, Quercus, Pyrus and Vitis can metabolise nitrogen oxide  and therefore, their plantation could help in this matter.

Hence, the correct answer is Option (3)
