As we learnt

 

Ratio of resistances -

 

If radius is given

R\alpha\frac{1}{r^{4}}

- wherein

\frac{R_{1}}{R_{2}}= \left ( \frac{r_{2}}{r_{1}} \right )^{4}

 

 

 

Since R is proportional to 1/r4(r=radius of the wire)

As r is halved , the resistance become 16 times.
