Relation between angle of incidence and angle of refraction -

\mu _{1}\sin i= \mu _{2}\sin r

- wherein

\mu _{1}= refractive index of medium of incidence.

\mu _{2}=  refractive index of medium where rays is refracted.

i= angle of incidence.

r= angle of refraction.

 at water - air interfac

\mu _{w}= \frac{1}{\sin r}

or  sin r = \frac{3}{4} ----------------(1)

at water glass interface

\mu _{g}.\sin i = \mu _{w}.\sin ror

\mu _{g} = \frac{4}{3\sin i}.\frac{3}{4} = \frac{1}{\sin i}
