Rosenmund's reaction -

Acid chlorides are reduced in boiling xylene using Pd / Pt along with BaSO4, S or quinoline is used to poison  Pd / Pt to stop the reduction of aldehyde further.

RCOCl_{2}+H_{2}\rightarrow RCHO+HCl
