 Let s arrange the items in ascending order 3, 4, 6, 9,9 10, 11, 18, 22.

            In this data the number of items is n = 8, which is even.

 Median = M = average of \left ( \frac{n}{2} \right ) th and  \left ( \frac{n}{2} +1\right ) th terms.
