As we have learnt,

By Reduction of Nitriles and isocyanides 

Cyanide group is reduced to NH2  (1\degree\:Amine)  group by LiAIH4  or by catalytic hydrogenation. 

R-C=N\overset{LiAIH_{4}}{\rightarrow} RCH_{2}-NH_{2}

Ascent of amine series means the preparation of amines containing one carbon atom more than the starting amine.
