Three containers of capacity 20 L, 5 L and 9 L contains mixture of milk and water with milk concentration 90 %, 80% and 70% respectively. The contents of three containers are emptied into a large vessel. What is the approximately ratio of milk to water in the resultant mixture?

In first container
milk = 90% of 20 = 18L, therefore water = 20-18 = 2L
In 2nd container, Milk= 80% of 5 = 4L, water = 1L
In 3rd container, milk = 70% of 9 = 6.3L, Water = 2.7L
After mixing
Total milk= 28.3L
Total Water = 5.7L
Required ratio = 28.3 : 5.7
so approximately 5:1
