It lies at a distance of \frac{r}{2} from centre of the sphere.

 y_{cm} = \frac{m_1y_1 + m_2y_2}{m_1+m_2}

y_{cm} = \frac{M(R/2) + M(4R/3)}{M+M}\\\\ y_{cm} = \frac{\frac{R}{2}+\frac{4R}{3}}{2}\\\\ y_{cm} = \frac{11}{12} R
