At resonance (series resonant and circuit) If X_{L}=X_{c} -

Z_{min}= R

- wherein

Circuit behaves as resistive circuit.

 

 

At resonance, X_{L}=X_{C}

\Rightarrow Z=\sqrt{R^{2}+(X_{L}-X_{C})^{2}}

\Rightarrow Z=\sqrt{R^{2}}

Z = R
