Ethyl isocyanide on hydrolysis in acidic medium generates
ethylamine salt and methanoic acid
propanoic acid and ammonium salt
ethanoic acid and ammonium salt
methylamine salt and ethanoic acid.
As we learnt ,
Hydrolysis of isocyanides -
Alkyl isocyanide are hydrolysed to an amine and formic acid by dilute acid, but not hydrolysed by Alkalis due to negatively charged carbon which resists the attack of ions.
