Glomerular Filtration Rate:

  • The quantity of glomerular filtrate formed each minute in all the nephrons of both kidneys is called Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR).
  • In a normal person, it is 125 ml per minute or 180 litres per day.

Filtration Fraction:

  • The part of the renal plasma which becomes the filtrate is called the filtration fraction. 
  • It is the ratio between renal plasma and glomerular filtration rate.
