How is Gene therapy performed
Usually, two approaches, in vivo and ex vivo are performed for gene therapy.
1. Using vectors like viruses or nanoparticles to reach the target cells, in vivo gene therapy presents the therapeutic gene straight into the patient's body.
2. In ex vivo gene therapy, cells are extracted from the patient's body, genetically altered in a lab by including the desired gene, and then reinvigorated into the patient. Some malignancies and some genetic problems are treated with this approach quite frequently.
