Assertion: At ampullary junction, when sperm and ovum are transported simultaneously fertilisation occurs.

Reason:The motile sperm pass through the cervix, enter into the uterus and finally reach the isthmus.

Option: 1

If both Assertion & Reason are true and the reason is the correct explanation of the assertion, then mark A


Option: 2

If both Assertion & Reason are true but the reason is not the correct explanation of the assertion, then mark B


Option: 3

 If Assertion is true statement but Reason is false, then mark C

The motile sperms swim rapidly, pass through the cervix,enter into the uterus and finally reach the ampulla of the fallopian tube.The ovum released by the ovary is also transported to the ampulla where fertilisation takes place. Fertilisation  occur if the ovum and sperm are transported simultaneously at the ampulla.

Option b is the correct answer.
