The xylem element which is elongated or tube like cells, tapering ends, thick and lignified wall is xylem tracheids.

 Xylem tracheids do not have protoplasm and are dead because they are lignified. The xylem tracheids do conduction of water and also provide mechanical support . These are found in flowering plants like angiosperms and gymnosperms.

Option 1 is the correct answer.
