Number of Moles of a gas at STP -

no of moles of a gas at STP = given volume of gas / 22.4 liter

-

1 mole of the gas at STP = 22.4L

5.6L at STP = 16g (given)

Thus, 22.4L at STP = (16 x 22.4)/5.6
                             = 64g

Therefore, molecular mass off gas = 64g

Now, for SOx gas, we have:
=> 32 + 16x = 64
=> x = 2

Hence, gas is SO2
