Carbaminohemoglobin: Some carbon dioxide is bound to hemoglobin and is transported as carbaminohemoglobin.

Bicarbonate ions: The majority of carbon dioxide is converted to bicarbonate ions in red blood cells, which are then transported in the plasma.

Option 3  is the correct answer.
