Enthalpy of combustion -

Amount of Enthalpy change when 1 mole of substance is completly burn in excess of Oxygen

- wherein

CO_{(g)}+\frac{1}{2}O_{2}(g)\rightarrow CO_{2(g)}+283\ KJ

\Delta H_{comb} \: of\: CO= 283\, KJ

Given, c(s)+o_2(g)\rightarrow co_2(g)

\Delta _fH= -393.5 \: \: kJmol^{-1}

Therefore, Heat released on formation of 44 g/mol of co_2= -395 \: \: kJ/mol

Therefore heat released on the formation of 35.2 g of co_2

=\frac{-393.5}{44}\times35.2 \: \: kJ\: \: =-315\: \: kJ
