Pedigree analysis:
It is the study of how features or diseases are transmitted from parents to offspring and back over many generations in a family. Doctors and researchers use it to determine whether a condition is inherited and how probable it is that it will manifest in the next generations.

One method to present this is via a family tree. Its shapes resemble family trees, and they depict how individuals connect. Dark symbols indicate people with a particular disease or feature; women are represented by circles (o), men by squares (?). Lines between family members indicate their relationship.

This study enables us to determine if traits are dominant or recessive and whether they are related to normal chromosomes (autosomal) or sex chromosomes (X or Y-linked). While sickle cell anemia is a hereditary condition, hemophilia is one that is related to a person's gender.

In medicine, pedigree research helps to identify hereditary disorders and determine a family's genetic risk factors. Doctors can use it to assist couples in planning their children; those who study how qualities are inherited can also benefit from it. Many also utilize it to maintain qualities they seek in plants they cultivate and animals.

Knowing about the pedigree study helps us to learn more about hereditary characteristics, remain safe from genetic disorders, and make better health choices.
