The secretion of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) at the onset of puberty stimulates the anterior pituitary gland to secrete two gonadotropins - luteinising hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). LH acts on the Leydig cells in the testes and stimulates the synthesis and secretion of androgens, including testosterone, which in turn, stimulate the process of spermatogenesis.

Option b is the correct answer.
