As we have learnt in:

Multiple Fission in Amoeba:

  • In unfavourable conditions, amoeba divides by multiple fission.
  • It withdraws its pseudopodia, becomes spherical and secretes three-layered cyst around itself.
  • Its nucleus undergoes repeated mitosis division forming 500- 600 daughter nuclei.
  • Each daughter nuclei get surrounded by a mass of cytoplasm and divide into minute amoebae.
  • On getting favorable conditions the cyst ruptures to release the amoebae which soon grows into an adult amoeba.

-The formation of two daughter cells in amoeba occurs under favorable conditions during binary fission. Cyst rupture to release daughter amoebae also occurs when favorable conditions return. Withdrawal of pseudopodia and cyst formation and division through multiple fission can be seen during unfavorable conditions. Hence, option d is correct.
