The majority of the chemical compounds and membrane-attached proteins that make up the electron transport chain are arranged into four sizable complexes with the letters I to IV.Proton pumps are found in the electron transport chain's complexes I, III, and IV.

The complexes take the energy released when electrons migrate energetically downhill and utilise it to pump H ions out of the matrix and into the intermembrane gap.

As a result of this pumping, an electrochemical gradient is created across the inner mitochondrial membrane, which ATP synthase uses to produce ATP.

Therefore Complex II is the correct answer.Hence the correct answer is option 2.
