The medulla extend as conical masses projecting into the calyces as medullary pyramids and extend in between the pyramids as columns of bertini. The innermost funnel shaped region of nephron is called renal pelvis. The convoluted tubules lie in the cortex and the loop of henle lies in the medulla. The collecting ducts run deep into the medulla and renal pelvis. Thus, the correct answer is option b.
