Henry's law states that the solubility of a gas in a liquid is directly proportional to the pressure of that gas above the liquid. However, the solubility of a gas in a liquid is inversely proportional to the temperature of the liquid. Therefore, as the temperature of water increases, the solubility of dissolved oxygen in the water decreases, making it difficult to remove the oxygen by boiling or heating.
