A bus decreases its speed from 80km/h to 60km/h in 5 secs. find the acceleration of the bus?

Answers (3)

Given- u= 80km/hrs

V= 60km/hrs

T=5sec

First change km/hrs in m/sec

80km/hrs=22.22m/sec

60km/sec=16.66m/sec

a= v-u/t

16.66m-22.22m/5sec

-5.56m/5sec= -1.112m s^-2

According to the formula of accrelation,          a=v-u/t

Here,

u=80 km/h= 22.22m/s (short form of second is s, not sec)

v=60 km/h= 16.66m/s

t=5s

So, accerelation= (16.66-22.22)/5 ms^-2

=-5.56/5 ms^-2

=-1.112 ms^-2 (ans)

*Note: Negative accerelation is called regelation, so,if in the question it was asked to find the regelation the answer would be 1.112 and there would be no negative sign
