+ 1 2 2 3 3 6
1 2 3 3 4 4 7
2 3 4 4 5 5 8
2 3 4 4 5 5 8
3 4 5 5 6 6 9
3 4 5 5 6 6 9
6 7 8 8 9 9 12

Total possible outcomes when two dice are thrown = 6\times6=36

Number of times when sum is 6 = 4

\therefore P(sum\ is\ 6) = \frac{4}{36} = \frac{1}{9}
