If x^{51}+51  is divided by x+1 , the remainder is

(A) 0

(B) 1

(C) 49

(D) 50

(D) 50

Solution:

In this question, we can use remainder theorem.

According to the remainder theorem when p(x) is divided by (x+a)  then the remainder is p(-a) .

\therefore  If x^{51}+51  is divided by (x+1)  then the remainder is p(-1)

p(-1)=(-1)^{51}+51\\ p(-1)=-1+51\\ p(-1)=50

Hence the remainder is 50

Hence option (D) is correct.
