Solve the following linear equations.

Q.4

                \frac{x-5}{3} = \frac{x-3}{5}

Answers (1)

We have

                   \frac{x-5}{3} = \frac{x-3}{5}

Multiplying both sides by 15 . (because the LCM of denomenator is 15 )

            5x - 25 = 3x - 9

Transposing 3x to the LHS and -25 to the RHS.

            5x - 3x = -9 + 25

or             2x = 16

                   x = 8
