Q. 5. Why is DNA copying an essential part of the process of reproduction?
DNA copying is an essential part of the process of reproduction so that the characteristics of the parent species are transmitted to it down the line (offspring) and at the same time some variation is also produced in the offspring. These changes in the DNA provide an organism with the capability to survive in the changing condition.
Since DNA copying (replication of DNA)causes variations it is important for the organism to adopt according to situation to survive in a better way. Hence the DNA copying is an essential part of the process of reproduction.
