As we know that 

1 rupee = 100 paise

1\:paise=\frac{1}{100}\:rupees

So

2 rupees 5 paise :

=2+5\times\frac{1}{100}=2+\frac{5}{100}=2+0.05=2.05\:rupees

and 2 rupees 50 paise:

=2+50\times\frac{1}{100}=2+\frac{50}{100}=2+0.5=2.5\:rupees
