 Bifocal lenses can correct this defect 

(ii) These lenses prepared in which Upper part of lens is concave and lower part of the lens is convex.

(b) GIven, P = +3D, f = 1 P = 3 1 m = +100 3 cm = + 33.3 cm,  P = - 3D

Therefore, Focal lengths of the lenses required to correct these defects.

f = −100 3 = −33.3 cm
