The magnitude of the resulting force can be found by :

                                           R = sqrtF_1^2 + F_2^2

or                                               = sqrt8^2 + 6^2

or                                              = 10 N

Now force direction,

                                         	an Theta  = frac68

or                                              Theta  = 37^circ

The acceleration of the body is given by :

                                                a = fracFm

or                                             a = frac105 = 2 m/s^2

Hence acceleration of the body is    2 m/s^2   and its direction is the same as of the resultant force.
