Answers (1)

(a) Characteristics -

(i) Size of the image is equal to the size of object.

(ii) Image formed by a plane mirror is always erect and virtual.

(iii) Image is formed behind the mirror and distance between image from mirror is same as the distance of object from mirror.

(iv) The image os laterally inverted.

(b) u=-20\; cm,\;\; \; \; f=-30\; cm,\;\; \; \; h=5\; cm

\frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{v}+\frac{1}{u}

\frac{1}{v}=\frac{-1}{30}+\frac{1}{-20}

\Rightarrow v=-60\; cm

\frac{{h}'}{h}=\frac{v}{u}

{h}'=\frac{v}{u}\times h

{h}'=\frac{-60}{-20}\times 5

{h}'=15\; cm

size = Enlarged
