A wire of length $L_o$ has a resistance $R_o$ . It is gradually stretched till its length becomes $2 L_o$ .

(a) Plot a graph showing variation of its resistance R with its length l during stretching.

(b) What will be its resistance when its length becomes $2 L_o$ ?

$R_0=\rho \frac{L_0}{A_0}$

When the wire is stretched the volume remains the same

$\\A_0L_0=A_22L_0\\A_2=A_0/2$

$R_2=\rho \frac{2L_o}{A_0/2}=4R_0$
