A wire of length $L_o$ has a resistance $R_o$ . It is gradually stretched till its length becomes $1.5 L_o$ .

(a) Plot the graph showing variation of its resistance R with its length l during stretching.

(b) What will be its resistance when its length becomes $1.5 L_o$ ?

$\\R_0=\frac{\rho L_0}{A}\\$

When the wire is stretched the volume remains the same.

$\\AL_0=A'1.5L_0\\A'=\frac{A}{1.5}$

$\\R'=\frac{\rho 1.5 L_0}{A/1.5}\\=2.25R_0$
