Compare the acidity and reactivity of alkenes with alkynes

Answers (1)

Alkynes are more acidic than alkenes. The hydrogen atom in alkynes is attached to sp hybridised carbon whereas in alkene the hydrogen atom is attached to sp2 carbon. Thus, when hydrogen atom is attached to more electronegative atom, then it is more acidic and thus more reactive.
