Kharif crop's cultivation begins in May at the set of monsoons, the sowing of seeds is done in June or early July. The crops are harvested in September-October and these crops depend on the monsoon. Rice, millets, maize, groundnuts, jute, cotton, and various pulses are some of the Kharif crops.
Rabi crops are cultivated at the end of Monsoon in October and the sowing happens in October-November, the crops are harvested in April-May. The crop very much depends on the sub-soil moisture. Some examples of Rabi crops are Wheat, gram, and oil-seeds like mustard and rape- seeds
