Explain cutaneous respiration in frog

Answers (1)

As we know that in frogs the process of respiration takes place through three respiratory surfaces that is skin, lungs and lining of the mouth. Cutaneous respiration is also called as cutaneous gas exchange. It is a form of respiration in which gas exchange occurs across the skin or outer integument of an organism. These cutaneous membrane allows the respiratory gases to readily diffuse directly. Even when out of water, mucus glands present in the skin help in the cutaneous respiration.
